Here is a Fuzzi Bunz diaper:

You stuff the absorbent stuff between a waterproof layer and a stay dry layer. The stay dry layer obviously goes against baby’s skin, while the waterproof layer is on the outside. In the middle, you can stuff as much or as little as you need.

The advantages of pocket diapers like FBs are convenience, looks, fast drying time, adjustable absorbency and adjustable fit.

The disadvantages are that they have to be stuffed with each use, they have to be purchased each time baby outgrows them, and they are very expensive.

I do not have any FBs. I chose to use one-size pockets instead. I have a bunch of Wonderoos that I hate and a few BumGenius that I love! My friend uses FBs. She doesn’t like them, but she’s impossible to please. A lot of people really like Fuzzi Bunz.

I really, really like plain old prefolds with a Bummis SWW or a Prorap. I really like a homemade wool cover, too. That’s my favorite diaper combination.

A Fuzzi Bunz diaper is the original “pocket” diaper. It has a PUL outer and a Malden Mills fleece interior liner. They are now sold with a Mother of Eden microterry insert (often referred to as a MOE) previously you always had to buy inserts separately. Honestly I find that you NEED two inserts in the diapers at all times, one is NOT enough! The diaper has triangular shaped tabs that fasten in the front of the diaper. There are two rows of independently adjustable “poppers” (plastic snaps), one row at the waist and the other at the leg. I find the placement of the poppers and the shape of the tabs to be awkward and they don’t fit as well as many other diapers. The PUL outer is high quality and does contain moisture very well and the fleece interior does wick moisture away from the baby so they do work well. It is very easy to shake solids off the fleece and they wash nicely and dry very quickly. I just don’t like the fit of them on my baby very much.
