@Kelvino420 I wasnt breastfed and im a teacher.
@ayaamaya whats your problem?
there is many reason a woman could not breast feed.
medications.
aids
my sister coulodnt cuz the babie didnt want it.
@xnanamadisonx Well yes some of thats true but not all the time.
You see some woman are not comfertable with it.
@xnanamadisonx yep it sure is and it can also prevent many illnesses…along with asthma and allergies
@ayaamaya tell me away to increase my milk supply, or it depends on how much you eat. or persons? I pumped to see how much milk I have and it wasn’t even 1oz so how can feed my baby then? I want but no milk, so you can’t plame al the mothers
@xnanamadisonx : I know breastfeeding is the best for the baby. but I am new mom and I tried to breastfeed my baby for 1st 10 days but I don’t have enough milk so my baby wasn’t getting enough milk and it was very hard for me cause I couldn’t sleep cause I was a awake every 3omins to feed him. is not easy breastfeeding and I wonder how moms feed their baby just breast milk.
Yes! Breastfeeding is a baby’s right and a mother’s responsibility!
Medical reasons? Then what would people do if Formula didn’t exist??
@ayaamaya
Breast is best (there’s no question about that), but I don’t see how it is any of your business how people choose to feed their children. Don’t be a busy-body.
Women who are on heavy medications can’t breastfed .Would you rather these moms take the risk of killing their babies by giving them drug-laced breastmilk than to give them baby formula?
You can’t paint everyone with the same brush, all situations are different.
i agree with alexisasay. you dont have to be so hostile about the situation thinking people are always trying to take the easy way out. every situation is different.
its a shame that most women who CAN breast feed choose not to. that’s selfish. breast milk is good for the baby and for the mom. do your research.
@ayaamaya I have epilepsy and I take strong medication which can harm my son, how the hell am I suppose to breast feed??? If you don’t know what you are talking about do not talk!
“Grow up” is the perfect advice, for you. Do what you feel is right when it comes to feeding your children, and understand that others will do the same. Not all mothers can breastfeed(babies dont latch on, mother is ill)should those babies go hungry? Some women have to work, milk stops coming in from lack of suction….then what?? Before ranting, stop and consider a few things
What about the non-sterile nature of powdered formula.
Using just filtered water is not enough to kill the bacteria, is it?
@ayaamaya
your right breast feeding is the better way to go but you have to consider some of the women who dont breast feed have a good medical reason for not breast feeding some dont breast feed because of the medicine that they take and some dont breast feed because they have aids or hiv and they dont want to pass it on to their child there are many reasons why some women choose not to breast feed.
people you need to stop making excuses! Breast feed your babies! grow up, boobs are for feeding our young not for sexual pleasure! Cow milk is intended for baby cows, not human infants. I cant believe people in this country are mature enough to get pregnant but not mature enough to breast feed. People have millions of excuses for why they dont, but at the end of the day its simply an EXCUSE i bet if there was no WIC (free formula) lots more would have no choice but to BF~
What about Melamine? No mention about this chemical that was found in US made formulas.
Milk only doesn’t come in if you don’t let it come in (by letting your baby feed off your breast before the milk comes in, to let your breast know that it is time to make milk) I give my 2 week old son 1, 3 oz bottle of formula before bed (only if needed) because he has hit his growth spurt and my breasts have not realized to make more yet, and I would much rather prefer my child be full and sleep well, rather than cry because he is hungry and suckling is doing nothing but making him upset.
70% receive formula in the first 3 months? Why do moms wean so early? I really don’t get it. I nursed my son for 20 months and I wish I had gone longer. I don’t get also why 30% of moms never ATTEMPT breastfeeding. I work in a WIC office, and pretty much every mom formula feeds.
The cases of moms “not making enough milk” is extremely rare. Then you get moms saying their milk never came in. I hear that all the time. Also very rare. I believe some cases are legit but most aren’t.
Every time I take my kids to the Dr he says you need to get them on a vitamin with flouride and writes me a RX. I just smile and say ok thanks doc. Yeah right. Flouride!
Oh keep feeding your formula to your poor innocent baby so he/she can be dumbed down with a 10-15%smaller brain size, and you welfare moochers think you have it so great. when the government poisons your baby with tTOXIC Formula and fluoride dont say you were not warned. u WILL REPORT to the concentration camps for your handouts, Mark my words WELFARE Moochers Your day will COME.
Con’t from previous post.
By this stage it was too late, as we had already found out what we needed to know ourselves. What gets me is that they tell you that there is higher risk of certain conditions (SIDS, excema, allergies etc) from using formula, but they don’t tell you by how much. is it 1%, 50%, 90%? noone has been able to tell us that. Whenever we asked about formula from health pro’s, answers were given in hushed tones and you would think we were trying to buy crack or something
I think people are missing the point here. There is a world wide push towards breastfeeding at the moment, and yes, it is most likely best for baby, BUT, there are those who are unable to breastfeed for a variety of reasons. We were in this situation. We had more than enough info given to us (unrequested) by doctor, midwife, Plunket (monitors looks after childs wellbeing till 5 yrs old) etc etc. It was not until out child was 4-5 weeks old that we were given a single page leaflet on formula
We have to do more to encourage women to breastfeed. It is not only perfect for optimum health of our children ..but also women. It reduces the risk of breast and ovarian cancer.
It is ALSO environmentally friendly. No methane producing cows needed…no damage to the earth from production, packaging or distribution!! AND no disposal of waste products..no accessories needed.
Do all you can to promote, encourage and support women to feed their OWN young…the organic milk they deserve!
