My friend decided to throw a baby shower for me and I offered to make the cake. I had the idea of this diaper bag cake for a long time and just needed an excuse to make it. The canvas gumpaste shoe was another cute thing I wanted to try out. I decided to gift it to my hostess as a keepsake for the lovely party she threw for a few dear friends of mine. This is a four layered red velvet cake with cranberry filling. The cake is covered with vanilla buttercream icing and then with marshmellow fondant. This was the first time my nerves were cool throughout the baking and making process and I realised that the key to success.
