Wash all clothing, bedding, bibs, blankets, etc. before you use them on/for your baby. There are tons of chemicals on fabrics in the store so you want to get rid of them first.

i washed our crib set. it shouldnt ruin it. ours didnt get ruined and it was a cheaper one. i would reccomend washing it just because you dont know where its been or if it was used maybe once or 2 and then returned.
i washed everything that will come in direct contact with baby’s skin. bedding, undershirts, sleepers, socks and hats. some of the outfits i didn’t wash because if he’s really big they won’t fit and i can return them.
I didn’t and my son was fine. I didn’t wash all his clothes either! You can though, but I didn’t and all was well.
I washed the sheet and comforter. I didn’t was the bumper. The tag on the comforter will tell you how to wash it. If you really worried you can always get the bumper and comforter dry cleaned. Be careful with the bumper, they arent recommended for small infants. Im not judging, my son had one and he was fine, but just so you know. And if you wash the babies sheets and such try using dreft baby detergent . Its a very mild gentle baby detergent.
Hope this helpa. good luck!!
Just wash the fitted sheet right before you are due. You want it to be freshly washed for your newborn. If you wash it too far ahead of time, dust may accumulate on it. No reason to wash the bumper or the comforter. The baby can’t sleep with the comforter anyway and can only really be used to lay on during his awake time.
Wash it.
I didn’t. But then again, she never slept in it. We started her in a bassinet but she wouldn’t stay asleep, so we co slept. But if you’re worried about ruining it, wash it on delicate with Dreft or slimpicity, and you don’t need to use much. Hang dry and you should be ok.
Wash it all. You’ll have to wash it all at some point once the baby is here since the baby will no doubt spit up on it, pee on it or spread some kind of bodily fluid on it- and you will want to make sure it washes well before baby is here or you may have to return it. Plus, everything that touches baby should be washed in dreft, you’ll want to get all that done while you are nesting and have energy!
GOOD LUCK and ENJOY!
Yes you should! All baby items such as blankets, sheets, clothes, and bumpers are or at least should be washable. Even if you don’t wash it now your baby will eventually get poop or vomit on everything within ten feet of her and then you will have to wash it. I made for absolute sure that the crib set we got was washable in a regular washing machine before we got it. I haven’t ever seen one that wasn’t washable, but it would be just my luck to get the one crib set that was dry clean only, lol.
The factories that make clothes and bedding and such are absolutely filthy and have all kinds of dust and excess dyes and things floating through the air and into your sheets. My grandmother worked in a textile factory for a while and would never wear anything new without washing twice after that. You’d think it would have gotten better since then, but it has only gotten worse. I’d bet good money that your crib set was made in an unsanitary working environment in some country somewhere in Asia probably.
I would also recommend against Dreft. My mother was actually allergic to Dreft, which is supposed to be very gentle. “Free and Clear” is actually more gentle for people with sensitive skin and a LOT cheaper. We just switched the whole family to free and clear and nobody has had a problem. Dreft is just so expensive for what it is. Good Luck!
