Question by Matahari: Are you feeding your kids organic foods?
What are your reasons for feeding or not feeding them with organics?
I am just curious. We don’t have enough money to buy organic foods for ourselfs, but we buy it for our kids as I think they are too young for all the chemicals that are presented in regular fruit and vegetables. We started after my 7 months old got a bad rash after he ate some peeled baby carrot from Stop & Shop brand.

i don’t feed my baby organic only b/c i don’t want to make a chioce for her in the matter of how food tastes. i think all babies should have a taste of any food that your eating. I have known people that have done it with their and the only thing that happened with that is that they paid way too much for the food.
What do you think? Answer below!

Organic is not supposed to be used with pesticides and sprays, etc… we feed my baby organic, because we eat only organic… home grown, or store bought.
And also, they aren’t supposed to have a bunch of crap in them…i.e.-msg,calcium chloride, sucralose…etc
Stop feeding him carrots, as its too strong for the system..
it best to feed starting with meats, then vegs, then fruits… and if you see rashes, DONT continue using them till they are older. And also, dont introduce too many at the same time..one type and wait a couple days to make sure its not irritating, also with the juices.and water them down!!!!!!
I buy organic for my sister’s kids whenever I can and I do so for myself, too. Milk is the most important, but if you can’t afford organic, you can’t afford it. I didn’t have it growing up and I’m still alive. I just make sure fruits and veggies are well washed when we get home.
My stepmom just started buying all organic food.. very expensive but absolutely better for you in all aspects. basically.. our bodies are not able to handle all the pesticides/chemicals that are put in so much of our foods today. Obviously, our bodies weren’t MADE to digest chemicals. Had I known this sooner, I would have started organic food a lot sooner.
It’s awesome that you’re willing to put your baby before you. The good thing about being a baby is they don’t eat that many different foods aside from milk and baby food.. both of which are very easy to find in the organic section.
they’re bellies are sensitive.. you can never go wrong with organic foods.
Some, because they make the poops stronger!
Personally i think this supposed “organic” food craze is just another plot of the food industry to make more money. I don’t feed my kids organic food and i don’t buy it. Its all a scam
i love organic foods….but they are very pricey!
i do my best to buy organics…not always possible and alot of it depends on the season too
i buy organics for my family for the same reasons as you…the chemical residues on foods are toxic and I need to be doing my part to be responsible towards the environment
edit….and organics are not a scam…compare the ingrediants on organics to non …the difference is shocking
and i don’t buy foods with msg, white flour, corns syrups, fake sugars and trans fats
i am very very picky about what goes in my shopping cart…and i am teaching my daughter the same ….it’s really cute when she flips a package over to read the nutrition label and ingredients list
I do a little of both. I do Gerber and another organic brand, plus I have some homemade recipies my fiance’s mother and my step-mom have come up with. I too cannot afford all of the time every organic thing out there, which is why I do a mix.
My daughter is 9 months old, but is still very picky about what she eats, so I have to be careful with that too!
