Why do Anti-Baby Formula people delete Formula Ads on Yahoo and Graigslist?

Question by ruthspy2000: Why do Anti-Baby Formula people delete Formula Ads on Yahoo and Graigslist?
I have been trying to sale Discounted Baby Formula to people that simply can’t afford it in stores. But keeps getting deleted.
(Notes to Anti Formula Moms) –>I Do agree that breast feeding is more nutritional for a Baby. But please understand that not all mothers breastfeed their kids, due to Lack of time or other health issues. Example: Mothers that are going through Kimo Therapy, Viral infections like HIV, or unbalanced hormones. Or sometimes if a baby is born premature Doctors put them on formula because their bodies may not be able to fight infections as a healthy baby would. (So the only thing I am asking for today is that you don’t delete peoples Baby Formula Ads for no reason unless it’s really necessary) A hard working mom, or an unemployed mom can get lots of help by getting the formula at lower rates and benifit from that. I just want you to consider the people that may really need the formula. Everytime you delete your still hurting a baby and cause more Hardship for Mom
I have been getting alot of great response so far. But I got one response from someone asking if I’m really trying to help the mothers or just trying to sale for profit? First of all if you actually read what I said, I stated that I was trying to sale Baby Formula at Discount Prices but my ad keeps being deleted. I was unemployed now I am self employed and very proud of it. I come from a family with alot of kids. My mom had 6 kids with my father and manage to get rid of us all so she can be with her new husband, thank god I’m not that 14 year old girl anymore I’m 25 now and want to help and support my younger brother who is only 17 thinking about getting a job while still in High School and is being bounce from house to house. I’ve been helping people for a long time, which blesses me in the long run. A door has opened for me and I am doing what I have to do. It’s a Win Win situation where moms are able to pay less and still get name brand formula. If their ok with that so am I.
Who said I was Donating Formula? I am not Bill Gates I am not making millions. Did you even take the time to read the details in my post??? I AM HELPING PEOPLE THAT NEED BABY FORMULA GET THEM AT LOWER RATES. THEN THEY WOULD IF THEY WENT TO A LOCAL GROCERY STORE. I understand it’s your opinion but atleast I am honest about what I’m doing. Like I said the people that purchase the Formula from me could care less because at the end they save alot of money. So basically we both benifit. And as far as donation goes I donate to my family in Haiti, to my little brother that needs help, because his parents can’t take care of him, to my 3 nephews and my sister. She’s a single mom that works her ass off with no help from her dead beat baby daddy, why is it so wrong to try and make money without someone being an a**hole? If most guys did what they had to do there would be less single struggling mothers out there. I have been doing positive things for my self and this is one of them.

I didn’t think you were allowed to sale formula or any kind of food products on Cragslist, did they take that off there? I know i use to go to the site and it said in the regulations or whatever that you couldn’t sell food products on there. That was for safety reasons.

I agree. Sometimes a Mom simply cannot breastfeed because of her health which could cause serious harm to the baby. Where are the cries of “it’s a woman’s body and her choice!” when it comes to breastfeeding? Why is it only a woman’s choice to have an abortion and not to breastfeed?

I agree. I breastfeed and formula feed cause I had to go back to work but I still get crap for it. I don’t understand these breast feeding fanatics who make other mothers feel even worse about the fact that they don’t breastfeed. When was it okay to be obnoxious about it?

  3. ~Mandi~ says:

Anti-formula people are retarded. they are those people that think its okay to breast feed their 8yr olds. I think what you are doing is a great idea-because Lord knows formula is EXPENSIVE! Screw the people that keep getting your question deleted.

  4. Char K says:

i agree, breastfeeding is a personal choice that not everyone chooses to make. if formula was so bad wouldn’t it be outlawed? lol. i know plenty of healthy babies that were formula fed.

Firstly it isn’t the ‘anti baby formula’ people that are deleting your ads. Most of the time it is against guidelines to post food products, which includes formula. It’s kind of like advertising a case of tuna fish… it just doesn’t work.

It’s great that you want to do something. Consider donating to a food bank or a local church, women’s shelter, or other assistance programs in your area. You could even donate to the police or fire department, your local district health center, or any where else where the staff would know of families who could use the help. There are so many better ways to help families. Try a few of those instead.

I must not have alot of anti formula ppl in my area because I see ads for formula all the time on CL.

And yes there are tons of reasons why a person might not breast feed starting with.. they don’t want to and they aren’t comfortable with it..besides the medical reasons of course. You know in the 7 years btw my last child and this one.. there is this whole new trend of Bfing mothers.. either that or they have desided that their dession on how to feed their child should be others.. cause seriously.. I didn’t hear much of any thing on the subject with my three older children.

You should post what you wrote here in your ad as a disclaimer or something. Maybe then it’ll stop being deleted :) , good luck!

are you sure that’s whats happening? perhaps its being flagged since you are only supposed to use Craigslist as a 1 or 2 time thing….if you are consistently advertising the same thing – you are just using them as free advertising and it would be like say someone going on there and trying to sell Mary Kay or Amway or something…thats not what its for and those things get flagged and deleted by people who work for CL…

my hubby tried selling the same thing on CL more than a couple times and it was deleted over and over…he got mad cuz they were doing it too. also, maybe you have it under the wrong category, that will get you deleted too.

what would be the point of deleting ads for formula….have you ever watched daytime tv…it’s ALL ads for formula…and formula is necessary for a LOT of reasons. no one has to justify why they chose formula and though i am ALL for bfing, what would be the point of deleting formula ads. i think you may be jumping to conclusions.

  9. TINA says:

if you want to sale the formula try ebay

  10. aljea says:

Really they do that, how rude!!!
Maybe you are posting it in the wrong section. I know I kept posting an ad wanting baby items in the baby/kid section but kept getting it deleted because it wasnt in the wanted section.

  11. "Obber" says:

Craigslist et al are for private listings, not people running a business.

  12. chaley1998 says:

possibly because it’s against their policies to sell food products on their websites?

it has nothing to do with people being for or against formula.

if you are such a saint, donate the formula to a shelter.

it’s all possible that it’s illegal to resell formula where you live.

  13. tasha l says:

you mean chemo therapy right?? not kimo?? Anyways I see free formula on freecycle and see it for sale on c/l here.

  14. Angel W says:

I don’t think anti-formula people are deleting discounted formula. I can’t imagine how they can…I have never personally been judged for switching to formula….It is a personal choice that every woman should be allowed to make without critisim. Formula IS expensive..I am always looking for deals..the best deal i have found so far is the Walmart brand (parent’s choice). A big can of powder is 11.88. If u are having a tough time, then try your local WIC office. There’s no shame in that. They teach you nutrition for u and your baby and give you vouchers for free formula ect…Good Luck to you
