We bought the Soothie bottles #1 for their overall value and #2 lots of good reports on them. I was not disappointed! This is the best gift set you could ever give someone who is having a baby. I just had my 4th child in August and she took to these bottles fantastically! This set comes with handy containers to hold formula or snacks that attach to the bottom of the bottle and they lock in place and do not fall off! These also do a wonderful job of venting air and do not leak. They also provide the perfect flow for my newborn so she is not gulping and drooling down the side of her face. I used to use Avent, but they are so overly priced and after hearing all the bad reviews this year with the poor construction on them with their new BPA free line, I just decided it was not going to be worth the added cost. Glad I made the change!

I bought these bottles because I liked that the set had the soothie nipples which was given to my son in the hospital and he loves. It also comes with a soothie pacifier and a bottle brush. I like that the lids fit on the bottoms of the bottles so they don’t get lost and I like that they are wide and easy to clean.
My biggest problem is that although the set says there are slow flow nipples for newborns and fast flow for older babies, my son chokes on the formula because the flow is too fast on the slow flow nipples. In my opinion, the slow flow should be slower.

I have a 3 month old son who used to get very very gassy after each bottle feeding. That is until I bought the First Years Soothie. He is still somewhat gassy but definitely much much better than before. With the old bottles I got, I could see a lot of bubbles forming while my son was drinking his formula. But with this product, I only see a little bit and sometimes none at all. My son didn’t have any problem latching onto the nipple even though he is mostly breastfed (he only takes 2 bottles a day) and unlike some other reviews this bottle is not too big for him. I think it’s just the right size. We have owned the starter set for a month now and none of the bottles leak.
As for the pacifier, my son wouldn’t keep it in his mouth too long, just like any other pacifiers. He just doesn’t like pacifiers I guess.

Our son loved the soothie pacifiers, so when I was looking for bottles for a baby who suffers from fussiness and gas, I immediately zeroed in on these. This is a great kit and has worked amazingly well for our 7 week old. He loves to drink from the bottles, he even “holds” the small one on his own if we let him. The extra pacifier, snack or formula containers and bottle brush make it a great buy. The bottles wash up really well and the nipples seem to be lasting as well. While the fussiness and gas are not completely gone, these definitely help him drink slower and more naturally.

These are the worst bottles. I thought Avent bottles were bad, these are horrendous. I spend hours a day pumping breast milk only to see it leak out of the base of the nipple all over my child. In a 4 oz. bottle at least 1.5 oz. is lost due to the leaky nipples. I will never purchase this product. I also agree the flow on the slow flow nipples seem a bit fast too.
