Q&A: What are some good gifts for expecting big brothers and big sisters from the new baby?

Question by RJM=Fam[ily]=♥: What are some good gifts for expecting big brothers and big sisters from the new baby?
I want to get my other children a gift from the new baby to help ease the transition a bit. Any ideas would be awesome! My daughter is 8 1/2 and my son is 4 1/2. Thanks!!!!
I know it isn’t much of a gift but no matter what I want to get them each a dissposable digital camera to take pictures while in the hospital. I think it would make them feel a bit in control, so besides that I need other ideas!

I don’t know but i was thinking the same thing, my son will be just under 3 when the babies born and i was wanting to get him a gift from the baby so he doesn’t feel left/pushed out esp with people buying gifts for the baby.

I was thinking of getting him something from bob the builder or Thomas as these are his favourite programmes at the minute. Also mothercare do some good things which say ‘i’m the big brother/sister’ which come with newborn tops saying ‘i’m the little sister/brother’.

    Congratulations!
I believe the disposable camera idea is brilliant! That way they will feel involved in there baby sisters/brothers birth :)
Them feeling pushed aside is your main worry so other gifts you buy for them from the baby needs to be something involving them.
Maybe give them freedom, take them shopping give them money or vouchers and tell them to buy what they want their sibling to have.
Books are good ideas allowing them to read to there new brother/sister.
    Good Luck :)
