Have you ever stopped and considered to choose organic cotton t shirts instead of the regular so-called “100% cotton t shirts”? Indeed, a lot of people today opt for organic t shirts online due to a growing environmental awareness.
There is a huge disparity between organic t shirts online, and the 100% cotton shirts. The latter is actually made of 100% cotton, the same with organic shirts; and there’s no doubt about it. However, if you look beyond the final product, you will see the big difference.
100% cotton means that the fabric used for the manufacture of that particular shirt was purely made out of cotton. No other material was used like polyester. But this label does not guarantee if the cotton farms used environmentally-friendly farming practices. It does not also mean that the manufacturing companies adhered to fair labor standards.
T shirts online that say they are made from 100% cotton often denote that the cotton farms from where the raw materials were sourced use pesticides and chemical-based fertilizers in farming.
On the other hand, t shirts online made from organic cotton, come from cotton farms that are often owned by local farmers instead of large industries. These farms adhere to environmentally-safe practices, and do not use synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.
For instance, Certton, an Australian clothing company, only manufacture t shirts made from 100% organic cotton. They make sure that in the course of their daily operations, the environment is preserved in a healthy state.
Certton also observes fair labor practices. This means that workers are not laboring in a sweatshop. They receive fair compensation and are not abused in terms of working hours.
You can always be assured that when you are getting organic cotton t shirts online, people who manufacture them are treated accordingly in a sweatshop-free working conditions, and you are also contributing to the preservation of the environment.
