Tea Tree Oil is a good natural product to use on mold. Look for products with this in it. There is a commercial product for the air, but I’m not sure where you can get it.

    rip it out

You really need to pull up the carpeting and take it outside to dry. If it has padding underneath pitch it. When the carpeting is dry then reinstall with new padding.

Padding is where any mold with grow and if you don’t pull it up no matter what you put on the carpeting with not go thorugh to the padding.

Get rid of that carpet. Call your insurance company. Even if the flooding is not covered, your baby’s health is more important. Mold can cause respiratory problems, & adding chemical sprays won’t be benificial. Be on the alert for musty smells, and remove that carpet as soon as you can!

Your first approach is to ensure the area becomes completely dry. Use a wet dry vac to remove as much water as possible. If possible, remove the carpet and padding to allow the subsurface to dry completely.
A dehumidifer should be placed to remove as much moisture from the space as possible. Dry heat will also work.

There are severl “Green” products on the market. But if you ensure the area is cleaned, then dried out completely you may not have a problem.

To avoid mold make sure you get most of the water out of the carpet plenty of air stirring. Getting the carpet dry is so important. Get fans going and furnace fan going.
