Please see my other photos for descriptions of this brilliant, local food store in Brighton. Look at these shallots! Two different types – the more commonly ones on the right, and baby red ones to the left. The baby shallots have long stems, one of which is wound round the stem bundle and and self-tied. Could more growers and stores please use this as an example of perfect self-packaging?! It creates a bunch of shallots that are beautiful and practically scream "buy me!" and equally if not more importantly, there is absolutely no man-made wrapping to throw away. The stems are going straight into my wormery!
