those reusable diapers are ridiculous even if they’re “better for the environment”.. the changing of the diapers is bad enough but having to constantly wash the poop filled things is horrible. Its not worth the trouble.. just buy some huggies

Never heard of ‘weehuggers’, but after a quick google search they look, well, a bit ‘gimmicky’.

They are just basic cloth diaper covers with a bit of advertising flair to their advantage (going by the website), although after a bit of perusing I did find they are made by Blueberry which IS a good brand of cloth, must just be Blueberries version of Gdiapers and Flip.

I’m a seasoned cloth user, my son has been in exclusively cloth since he was 8 weeks old and he is now 22 months old!

Blueberry is NOT an organic brand, like Bumgenius and FuzziBunz which are the two BIG name brands in cloth they use microfibre and PUL which are both synthetic fabrics in their diapers. Personally I LIKE to have PUL as part of the system as it is the most leakproof yet still breathable fabric on the market. It’s the expensive breathable version of PVC which is what the ‘old style’ nappy covers are made of.

The world of cloth is VERY confusing to a novice, and there are a lot of myths circulating about how hard it is to do. The reality is once you understand the basic styles it is just as simple as disposables.
Washing isn’t that hard, I change up my cloth washing routine every now and again just for a bit of variety but in reality all you need to do is remove poo and place in a washing machine with a bit of detergent, run a cycle (a fairly intensive one of course!) then either air dry them or dry in a tumble dryer on low heat.

If it helps, here is a link to a cloth diaper store with GOOD explanations of the different types and clear explanations of the cloth myths and what the realities actually are. As to what brands to get, it is very much a trial and error thing- what works brilliantly on one baby will not work at all on another!

i use only cloth diapers on my babies, and i love it! my favorites so far are Kawaii Baby Diapers. there are so many different kinds out there. its best to get a few of a couple different kinds, as each diaper will fit a little differently. here are some sites to check out… they have trial packs you can buy, and honestly, after using only cloth, i would never go back to disposables. there are so many cute diapers out there!

personally, i like one size pocket diapers. they fit from 7 to 35 lbs, sometimes it does vary by brand. if shes going to have small babies, maybe invest in a set of newborn sized diapers. and theres a very large market for selling used diapers, too… and they last through at least 2 kids, so you can save a ton of money!
