When it is baby bottle feeding time and parent let their baby do as she/he likes with her/his bottle all through this nine months and then suddenly decide that she/he must give it up altogether, parent are all likely to have an unhappy time of it. Babies who have constant access to bottle feeding tend to get more attached to the bottles, if the baby bottle feeding times are very often. The babies not only get the food from the feeding bottle but also they get the sucking comfort.

Of course, this comfort is good for them, just as the comfort of breast feeding babies, but constant access may not be. These following problems may occur.

Mother cannot control her bottle-feeding baby’s source of comfort as she can control her breast-feeding baby. And when the baby gets older, it is far more difficult to refuse her/him, because the baby is more able to think of bottle and demand another bottle at any time of day or night.

If baby bottle feeding times are too often, babies can really hooked on their bottles. Sometimes the babies lose appetite for solid foods because they drink so much milk. Therefore their chance of an optimal diet is ruined.

Let your baby to toddling around often with a bottle of milk in her/his mouth and her/his hands is not a good choice. Not only it is bad for teeth but also limits your baby effort to talk and manual play. So it is wise if you are present in your baby bottle feeding time.

It is much worst for your baby’s teeth than anything else if you let your baby sucking her/his self to sleep with a bottle of milk that pools in her/his mouth as she drowses. This condition might make your baby choke.

Right now you may think you would never allow your baby to do such a thing, and maybe you would not. But if you reach a time when you know that a bottle means she will go happily to sleep all by herself, and go straight off again when she wakes in the night, and that no bottle means she will not, maybe you will. Certainly a lot of tired parents do.

But if you refuse to give any milk from a bottle can lead to your baby refusing to take any milk at all and this is as bad for her/his diet as taking too much milk for too long. So it is wise if you can manage those baby bottle feeding times with as much attention as possible. Your baby may miss the sucking comfort so much that she takes to sucking her thumb and has that in her mouth all day. And of course cutting out the bedtime bottle can usher in problems over settling for the night.
