Q&A: Anybody tried different organic baby formulas for fussy baby?

Question by ann: Anybody tried different organic baby formulas for fussy baby?
I have a fussy baby who doesn’t take well to the formulas he’s on. I’ve tried a few – and with Nestle Good Start he did okay but ended up screaming after two weeks, and he’s slightly better or Enfamil Gentlease. The next step doc’s say is Nutramigen, but that just kills me to do that to my child! Has anyone been through this and tried organic that worked? Or, at least tried different organic formulas?

Maybe your baby doesn’t take to the milk in the formulas. Maybe talk to your doctor about Soy? I don’t think the organic stuff is that different from the regular formulas except that it is organic….

It seems to be that your doctor is suspecting a milk protein allergy and this is why he recommended nutramigen. I don’t know of any organic formulas that break the protein down in a way that will be useful for your baby to use.
None of the organics on the market 4 years ago worked with my son. We put him on the neutramigen and the puking and screaming/fussing day and night ended within 24 hours.
I know it’s hard to make the change especially with how expensive that stuff is but it saved my son.

Seems we are in the same boat. My 6 week old is also on the Enfamil Gentlease, and it has helped a little, but he is extremely gassy and fussy, I mean screaming painful gassy. His pediatrician recommended a soy based, it’s Enfamil Prosobee Lipil, haven’t tried it yet, but that’s what his ped recommended

Why would putting your child on Nutramigen “kills me to do that to my child?” There is nothing wrong w/ that formula except it is expensive.
It sounds like a milk protien allergy…organic formulas will do nothing for that. My daughter went through the same things in has been on Alimentum (Similac version of Nutramigen) for over 5 months. It has been a lifesaver for her….nothing else worked and this worked wonders.
If the doctor says to try it, I would and see how he does.
    Best of luck

Similac sensitive RS! A lot cheaper and really works! It is new! Good Luck!
