This was a gift for fellow knitter Kira who is due February 6th. It’s basically a bag, for a newborn, to keep warm and swaddled. Apparently (I learned tonight at the baby shower), sleep sacks help reduce the risk of SIDS. I imagine it also helps to keep babe from scratching its face up. I chose the pattern because sleep sacks were on Kira’s list of desired baby items.
The felt applique was machine sewed on and the little legs are made of embroidery thread.
