What is the normal size of an infant. I don’t care if I get the one piece too big, since the baby grows so fast, but I don’t want to get one thats too small. What kind of sizing system do infant babies use?

Get either 0-3 or 3-6. Both of those are months. There is newborn as well but most babies grow way too quickly to stay in that size for very long.

Personally, I’d get 3 month old outfits. Everyone will be getting her new born sizes for the baby and she’ll have no clothes for when it gets bigger.

You should buy a 0-3 months if you want the baby to use it soon after being born. It you want it to fit the baby a while longer the best choice would be a 3-6 months because babies do tend to grow very fast.
I would buy clothes for when the baby is like 6-9 months because the mom is often gets lots of newborn outfits and the baby only wears then once or twice. So buy clothes that are like 6-9 months or 12 months.
I personally when getting cloths for a babyshower will get 6-9 months outfits that will be in season when the baby is that old. Everyone usually gets 0-3 or 3-6 months and i enjoyed having some 6-9 or 12 months i even got some 18 month outfits at my sons shower
You could get 0-3 months if you want it to fit immediately. Get 3-6 months if you want it to fit in the next few months. But actually, so many people get those sizes for the shower but you have nothing in larger sizes. You could get 6-9 or 12 month clothing that the baby can grow into.
