just the same as eating Organic food…………..its pretty much the same thing but you pay more for it. cotton is cotton it all does the same thing

  2. Shannon says:

The “organic” and “green” movement is crazy. The cotton you buy normally is just as “organic.” And alot of the “green” labeled things were already that way before they made new labels. Some are different, yes. But organic cotton? Come on….

I don’t know why you asked this question when you already seem to have your answers. I don’t think organic cotton is necessarily softer, however. That all depends on how the cotton was treated and processed.

Yeah you did seem to answer your own question:)

The chemicals used to produce and finish conventional clothing are toxic and some of them are carcinogenic (causes cancer). Cotton is the 2nd most toxic crop in the US because all of the pesticides required to preserve it for mass consumption. 100% organic cotton is produced without any of these toxic chemicals.

How much of a priority they are for your baby depends on your budget and how tolerant you feel your baby is to the chemicals in the clothing and apparel. If you have a thriving baby, and a limited budget, you might have a bigger impact starting with organic baby food or skin care as all of that goes right in to your baby’s developing system. On the other hand, if your baby was premature and has a lot allergies, eczema, and is sick a lot of the time, she or he might benefit from not absorbing and breathing in toxins from his clothes and bedding 24/7.
