“Ring-O’s” — LOOP Baby Toy

My first time trying these. I am a fan of Amigurimi (hah! see? I can’t even spell it right! make that "Amigurumi") stuffed thingys, but I am *not* good at them! (Sigh…)

These rings took me waaay longer than they should have. I am the slowest knitter on the planet, and now I am convinced that I am also the slowest crocheter.

I crocheted these over cylindrical forms (like a pill vial for the largest ring, the tube on a big Sharpie marker for the smaller rings, etc.). That may have slowed me down, but I found that when I tried to crochet the tubes without those supports, it seemed harder for me to keep the cylinders uniformly shaped.

Anyway, the forms kept the crocheted tubes a consistent circumference (sort of like the moulds they use for weaving Nantucket Lightship baskets in order to keep the shape as precise as possible).

I’m not unhappy with these now that the set is finished. However, I hate the way my "joins" look. I redid them several times but did not get the result I wanted. The set looks pretty good as long as the joins are camouflaged, LOL. And, fortunately, the baby won’t care at all. ;o)

*Assimilation complete. I will pretend to be a toy for their small children.*

ETA: Kitten came before baby, so it’s now a cat toy.
