Question by br: If you were to receive a gift basket as a new mom, what types of gifts would you like to be in it?
If you were to receive a gift basket as a baby shower gift, and assuming all the products in it would be for you, not for baby, what types of gifts would you like to be in it?
For example, would you like any of these? Or something else? please select all that you’d like. I am doing research for my new business and would appreciate any input! Thanks!
lip balm, tea, journal w/pen, chocolate, bath products, lotion, robe, slippers, comfy t-shirt, candle, aromatherapy eye or neck pillow, jewelry (necklace, earrings), gift card to retail store (what store?), gift certificate for a service such as manicure or massage, small inspirational book, cocoa butter or other stretch mark cream, lanolin or other lotion/ointment for breastfeeding, other.
Would you like to see any gifts in it for baby or just for you? If yes, what kind of baby gifts?
Would it matter to you if the products and packaging were either organic, “green”, recycled materials or recyclable after use?

A gift certificate to Bath and Body Works, make up, and house slippers—for the Mother.
Baby Powder, Gerber baby food, and Baby Clothes—for baby.
With a bow on top, that would be a good basket. That’s what I’d like…but what you have sounds great, if she has good taste, she’ll like it.

but i also think mothers enjoy more when they get new stuff for the new baby. so maybe also include a few things like, a binky, or a small stuffed animal. nothing big just something to have for the baby (:

YES, do include the baby. One gift or kindness given to a persons child is like giving ten fold in gifts and kindness to the parent.
Since it’s targeted for new moms, it should have something to do with the occassion. Tea, chocolate, bath products, comfy “Mommy” shirt, candle, neck pillow are good for relaxation since she’s gonna be busy all the time. Journal with pen and maybe a small photo album to put some new baby and mommy pics in are good. A few small things for baby are nice too, maybe a small stuff animal. Going green is good.
Let the gift basket send a message of “Embrace New Mommyhood!”
I would love a heating pad for my back, cute shirts— like ones from Gap Maternity. Coco butter lotions or shea butter lotions for stretch marks. Gift certificates to get spa pre/post natal massages. Bibs, b/c you can never have to many and blankets for the same reason. storage bins, b/c you always have too many of something and for the clothes your child grows out of. You can find different gift shops and sometimes I’ve found coupons and discounts by looking on http://www.citywaboo.com it depends on what city you’re looking in, but usually i can find spa discounts at Le Soliel’ spa, and the same for other businesses. You may want to briefly search the item that you’re looking for and the city that you’re in to see if they offer any coupons for those locations. Good luck;) I’m sure whatever you fill your basket with it’ll be appreciated….
as far as packaging, I personally think it’s always great to use “green” materials, but i wouldn’t be offended if you used the stuff you can find at the dollar store, with gas prices, save money where you can!
Sounds like a great business! All the stuff sounds really good! I think you should make different packages of stuff. Where like people can either pick all the items 15,10,8,5 or whatever you want. Make a list of baby items people can choose of so they can add those in there baskets if they want. Like diapers, bottles, blankets so on.
if the new mom is rele concerned about “green” things, then u can put it organic scented soaps, scented candles and lip balms or scented oils made w/ organic ingredients. if she isnt, then just give her a gift basket filled with bath stuff, like fizzies or bath salts, creamy scented soap, flame-less scented candle, n bath beads. its simple n classic. u can get these types of gift sets at the body shop.
