Question by fm1033: What is the difference between Infants’ MYLICON® Drops & Infants’ MYLICON® Drops Non-staining Formula?
My husband and I, are thinking about getting Mylicon drops for our new born, but were curious what the difference was between these two kinds. I was kind of under the impression that the “Drops Non-Staining formula would be specifically for breast fed babies, or does it not matter which on you get for breast fed babies? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Both work the same and are both appropriate for breastfeeding. The non-staining is a little harder to see in the dropper because it is white, but wont stain clothes, etc. The other is red, is easier to see in dropper, but can leave a stain on material so you will need to be more careful with it.
Edit: forgot to add that these drops were a god send for my family while we waited in limbo until my son’s hernia operation. They seemed to bring him comfort during this time and that was enough for me.

Doesn’t matter in the least, but do know that these things don’t make babies happier.
http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/gassybaby.html#treatments –> “In clinical trials, simethicone drops have been shown to be effective in reducing the total amount of gas passed. However, they have not been shown to be more effective than a placebo when the study focused on baby’s total crying time and the severity of colic-like episodes.”
It is normal and harmless for babies to fart…
