120 days old. Duncan’s first spoon-feeding of cereal mixed with formula. I don’t think I’m ready for him to be eating from a spoon yet!

My littlest, noshing on some cereal.
I am SO proud of how far she’s come with eating cereal. Let me let you in on a secret: feeding a visually impaired baby is a lot more difficult than one might think. Beauty was a toughie since had never eaten off a spoon (ever) when she arrived home from GT at nine months of age. But my muffin can’t *see*. It’s not that she doesn’t ‘get it’, but it’s hard for her to accept something being placed in her mouth without her doing so. I can’t wait until she can self-feed! She will love that beyond words! But for now, we have a technique. She always holds a spoon while I get her cereal ready, and each time the spoon touches her lips, I say "yummy!" (I know the experts would tell me I should constantly and exclusively dictate that she’s tasting rice cereal mixed with formula, but gimme a break–we roll things a little bit easier up in here). Anyway, at "yummy!" she knows that she’s going to encounter some sort of food on a spoon. And she’s happy enough about it. This is SO good. She is so great and fantastic and brilliant. I mean, seriously so. <3
