Question by becauseIsaidso: Should I wash my organic baby spring salad mix?
I bought a box of organic baby spring salad mix from Sam’s Club. It looks as if it was prewashed and without, I would assume pestisides. Is it nessasary to wash them?

absolutely…there may be feces..bugs etc…..dont you watch the news?

    Yes, some have been washed in chlorine!

    You should make your own salad ideally – the prepacked ones aren’t healthy…….too many chemicals and bacteria.

    Even tho it may be pre-washed, I rewash it all anyway. I wash it in filtered water, which is all I drink anyway, I’m only assuming that if you’re buying organic, you’ll want to keep as many pollutants out as you can.

    It is always necessary to wash them. Somebody picked them, somebody who may have just finished having a crap and didn’t wash their hands is picking them with their hands. Salmonella and other bugs would be on the veges. Organic means no artificial chemicals were used on the product. In other words manure for fertilizer is OK and so is naturally occuring pesticides.

    Any yes wash it,,, the bugs may have laid eggs anyway…
