Yes its wonderful formula and that is what we use. Parents Choice from Walmart makes a similar product and its like 50% cheaper then Enfamil and its the same stuff!…..Yes you can apply by email for coupons and stuff.

  2. Glenna says:

Go to their website. Its filled with information and free sample offers. They’ll also send you coupons such as $7.00 off or $3.00 off. I’m on WIC though, so its free for me. When we had to buy formula with our first son, we just bought the generic Wal-Mart stuff after awhile. Same formula, just different name. All that stuff is regulated by the FDA. Its all safe.

  3. Steph says:

well most formulas are expensive, you can try stores like wal mart and k mart usually have generic brands, babies may need a small adjustment to the switch, you can also register with the companies and many of them will send coupons

Yep. its real spendy. But really the best thing for infants is breast milk. And its free. Lipil is excellent stuff but no substitue for breast milk. If your baby is small or premie, try the high-calorie enfamil, but talk with your doctor first.

  5. Starlight says:

Target has a generic brand that is almost exactly the same as Enfamil Lipil at half the cost! My son actually prefers the taste of it over the real Enfamil product too.

  6. mrsrm says:

Parent’s Choice WalMart. As far as I know, it only comes in powder form, but you might check on a liquid form anyway. It’s been a while. Good luck.

Enfamil Lipil is good. ANy formula that you’re baby will take with out problem is the one for them. You can also ask you dr for a reccommendation. Most babies start off with Enfamil Lipil, or Similac Advance or Good Start.

Go to the enfamil website and sign up for their mailing list, they’ll send you checks that work like coupons for anywhere from $1 off on up to $5-7 off. And watch at the grocery store some places you’ll get the coupons at the checkout for the next time you get it.

You can also apply for WIC, but the formula they give depends on your area.

you better believe that formula is never cheap… sometimes you catch a sale and sometimes not. i noticed when i started my child out on enfamil lipil and buying it from giant … with your bonus card they started giving coupons out for like 15$ off of the formula. i would go to the enfamil site and register, most of the time they will send you free samples and coupons. if you are really worried about the cost… then apply for wic…

  9. Diane M says:

As long as it is agreeing with the baby its just fine. You probably will be getting lots of coupons in the mail. All new parents do. Check around to see who has the best price. If you compare Walmart store brand with the Enfamil brand you will see that they are the same but Walmart costs less.

Enfamil is a good brand, so is similac. If you go to their websites, you can sign up for free samples and the company will actually send you discount checks for their products. Watch for cupons in the papers too. One interesting thing that our doctor told us when our daughter was on formula (she’s two years old now, so she’s been off formula for over a year), but he told us that the store brand formula is the same as the name brand – the only difference is is that you are not footing the advertising bill for the store brand of formula. He told us to compare labels sometime when we went grocery shopping, and we did and lo and behold – the exact same product with a different label. In our case, we were using Similac Advance, and switched to the Walmart store brand Parent’s Choice. FDA regulations require that store brand formula products meet or exceed the FDA set regulations. So, if you do buy a store brand, buy the kind with DHA and ARA, just like Enfamil and Similac – the only difference is is that you’re not paying for the advertising and that’s why it’s so much cheaper. We were paying $24 a can for the Similac and only $11 a can for the Parent’s Choice brand.

if the hospital sent you enfamil than give it to the baby, b ut if he has an allergic reaction to it than you should call your doctor.

  12. Sweetie says:

Thats the one brand that EVERY hospital carries b/c its the cheap shit! I HATED IT! And so did my kids! You think its expensive…wow…its the cheapest or one of the cheapest ones out there…i say if your little one is doing good on it dont mess with it. If she starts having trouble with it then you can change it but i you need to ask the babys pediatrician before you do so so that he or she can recommend something!

  13. benandjerryluvr says:

It IS a good product. However, I have been told that hospitals alternate ( atleast the two here do) between Enfamil Lipil and Similac Advance because they don’t want to show a bias for one company and not the other, since so much is donated to hospitals.

As far as buying formula, Costco’s Kirkland brand is comparable to both Enfamil Lipil and Similac advance, for SO much less money. You might try that. I know that some mothers without a Costco in their area have ordered it online from the Costco website. If you can’t find it THERE, try flyingpig.com… that is Costco for international orders. Good luck!

it can end up costing thousands a year for any formula. And none even comes close to as good as breastmilk.

have you considered continuing to breastfeed? It makes your baby much healthier (less infections, allergies later), and there’s no added expense. Plus, one study found breastfed babies ended up with high IQs!
Most hospitals have a lactation consultant that can help if you’re having difficulty.

    Good luck!

  15. Walter W says:

The hospital wouldn’t send you home with something that is harmful to the baby, so yes it is good. You will soon find that out when the baby is gnawing away at the bottle. Applying for a WIC voucher is a great idea to help with the cost of formula, generics are okay since it’s the same stuff just different name, and keep an eye for coupons. Most of the time, the hospital will send you home with a baby coupon pack.
