1. Start with 5 meters of fabric (I had a little over 5 yards). This is 100% pure organic cotton (always think that baby is going to chew that fabric). Wash and dry it first, in case it shrinks.

last night started with prosecco. we had organic baby greens with craisins, walnuts, gorgonzola, cherry tomatoes, and champagne dressing. main dish was pasta puttanesca with fresh parmesan and farmer’s market arugula tossed in at the end. washed down with a delish cabernet.

everything was fantastic! love it when my cooking comes out so well.

these red mario batali bowls are my new favorite. they have portions inside so you can level off the measurements. crate and barrel – totally worth it. i think they come in a set of 6.

Baby watermelons

I must have at least 50 or 100 miniature watermelon flowers on five plants. They’re very pretty too. Now I have the first melon, about golf-ball size. These fruit grow to about the size of a rockmelon (aka canteloupe in USA). The flowers are a glorious shade of yellow but washed out in this strong Aussie sunlight, even on a cloudy day like today — should have photographed at dawn or dusk.
