Question by polo: To what charity(ies) can I donate some really quality baby furniture, toys and clothes that will benefit truly
needy families in the Bay Area? Organizations that do pick up or have locations for drop off in East Bay are preferable.

Goodwill does pick up of certain items: http://www.goodwill.org/page/guest/about/howweoperate/donate
As long as it’s not a major appliance or mattress (they are overloaded) they will come and get it. I found them more willing and more flexible about pickups than the Salvation Army.

Your local crisis pregnancy center would love your donations. Most of these centers receive no government funding and use these items for incentive and gift items for clients at their centers. Most centers to not charge clients for services either. Their budge is attained solely from private funding, donations, and fundraisers.
