Question by Schmoe: do you find that huggies organic diapers leak more/worse than ‘regular’ disposable diapers of any brand?
we were given some huggies organic diapers when our baby was born (she’s now 2 1/2 months). i don’t go in for the organic thing at all (or i’d probably be using cloth to start with lol) but i appreciated the gift.
i have used maybe half the pack and have decided to get rid of the rest (i’ll try to find someone i can donate them to) because they leak HORRIBLY. my baby has pooed or peed through every one of those diapers i have put on her. normally we buy the walmart Parents’ Choice brand because we’re trying to save money and we’re cheap to begin with and she can fill them to the brim (so to speak) and they rarely leak. it’s 1am and i just had to toss her blanket, pants and onesie into the wash and clean her bouncy chair as well. and it’s not like i left her there in a dirty diaper. we had just changed her before bed and then i heard that telltale ‘PFFFFT’ lol and popped up to check her and oh good lord – KABOOM! – there go the clothes.
ok, so i’m ranting. but seriously, am i the only one that finds these organic diapers to be less effective at containing baby butt explosions? they do feel less plastic-y on the outside but maybe that’s just a trick to make you think they’re better for the environment.
if you’ve used them or know someone who has, what has been your (or their) experience with them (any organic diaper really, doesn’t have to be huggies – although i’d be interested to hear if anyone has used both regular huggies and organic huggies and how they feel the two compare)?
thanks

HAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, let me wipe away my tears as I was laughing so hard on this one! ![]()
I’ve heard similar complaints about the “so-called” organic diapers – but dang, did you voice that in a great way! LOL
I never bought them, because of the similar comments I’ve heard, but I just had to LOL at your question cause it really did make me LOL!
Toss those suckers and stick with what works!
Good luck!

I’ve only tried the organic Huggies and found they leaked, as well. We use Pampers and even they leak sometimes…I guess it’s the good ‘ole liquid diet! I do the same thing that you describe…hear the PFFFFT and run to the baby before they run over! Sometimes even just picking up my little guy displaces the ooze to the topside and he gets a brown back! Eww, I know but I love him so! use whatever diaper works for you both and sock up on the soaking suds just in case, that way you can just toss it into a bucket or something and forget about staining…I find the Sunlight Amaze works but try regular Borax is she’s scent sensitive. Good luck!
PS mine’s 7 months and eating solids now and I don’t have to run anymore:)
I bought them while on a trip, I usually use cloth. Yes I had THREE count them THREE!!! Airport blowouts… yes AIRPORT! well… two airport and one air plane.
Did you feel the inside of them? They feel the same as any other disposable… I suspect the organic cotton is on the outside… not against baby’s skin…where it should be.
Only diapers I trust now are cloth! I am heading to the olympics tuesday morning… we are using cloth with cloth and disposable inserts, purely because of that experience!
Those Huggie Organic diapers don’t work worth a poop (pun sorry). A friend of mine used them for maybe 2 days when her triplets we’re teething.. and Yes I heard that Pfffttt sound as well, and oml those diapers exploded! Those diapers are a waste of time and money. I would buy just regular disposables.
I had some bought for me. A pack for my older son and some for my newest baby. Those are the worst things on this planet. One good pee and my toddler soaked his clothes. My newer baby soaked his clothes with a one pee and poop. Never getting those again. The outside of the organic huggies are softer to touch but the regular huggies are more absorbent on the inside.
