is it ok to use the leftover ready to feed Organic Similac?

Question by Cara: is it ok to use the leftover ready to feed Organic Similac?
Hello, it is so hard to read my baby’s mind. I feed my 7.5 mo baby 4 oz every 3 hours + some solids inbetween but sometimes she either wants more than 4 or eats less. I end up throwing that expensive ready to feed Organic fomula away. Is it ok to store in a fridge and use it again in a few hours? Like I don’t feed her at night and prepared 5oz for 6:30am and she only took 3oz of it. I had to throw the 2 oz away. The same happens all day long. Could I put the leftover back into the fridge and use it for the next feeding which would be in 3 hours?

Another thing is for some reason she made it a habit to wake up around 3-4am and stay up for 1.5 and then fall asleep after a hard struggle since she gets tired and refuses to fall asleep. I was thinking may be she is too warm? I dress her into 1 short sleeve onesee and 1 long sleeve and then onepiece pants(closeup buttoms). I do that because she usually will push the blanket during the night and it is 68 in the room. I even feel cold in a wool blanket with velvet sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt. How do you dress your baby and cover with what blanket? When I see her moving and wants to turn on her other side, I gently help her turn and it seems she is going to continue to sleep but no, slowly she starts moving more and more and eventually wakes herself up. And she wants my presence while she talks loudly and plays with her feet. She sleeps 8-9 hours at night but I wish it was continuous, otherwise it is just a nighmare. Imagine I have to hang over her crib for a full hour trying to pad her and sing for her to sleep. Sometimes it is almost like she is going to but then no, she rolls or pacifier drops for a moment and that’s it she wakes up again and I have to start all over. She only takes 2 naps during a day and she is up from either 4 or 6pm and depending on that I put her down between 9-10:30. Sorry for a long writeup I am just stressed out and don’t know how to stop her night wakenings. I feed her well before bed with sold and a bottle and when she wakes up at night she doesn’t seem hungry. I don’t turn the ligthon, and minimize my contact with her, only when she cries I try calming her down. Any suggestions?
Thank you!!
I did some research on internet and it seems you can use the leftover breastmilk. There was a study done to check the bacterial growth dn found no significant difference. Check it out.

I just called my hospital Labor and Delivery tonight and asked a nurse a similar question. I had 3oz pumped breast milk in a bottle that had been refridgerated and my daughter only took half of it before she fell asleep. I soo did not want to waste that precious milk!

I asked the nurse how long it would be good for once out of the fridge and she said that if a baby has drank from the bottle with milk in it, that you have to discard it. I believe the same is for formula. She said bacteria can grow on it fairly quickly. It really sucks either way, BM or formula, as I know formula isn’t cheap, especially organic. Although I have never seen organic formula, where do you buy it?

About the blanket issue, my daughter is 4 months old and we use a halo sleep sack. I LOVE IT! Here is the website:

They also reduce the risk of SIDS. I highly suggest getting one! My daughter is SUCH a squirmer and this really helps to keep her warm. I put her in a long sleeve sleeper and then put this on her. It works great.

Good luck!
